Solo: Prepared cello

Fotos by Max Kelm
I love the idea of sympathetic strings (strings that are not played directly but instead resonate when the regular strings are played, like on a sitar). I thought of how to do it with a cello and everything I could think of was very invasive to the instrument, so nothing I would do on my own. After playing around with different ideas in my head I got some springs and attached them to the cello which acts like a reverb. The sound I heard was absolutely fantastic. Since then I basically started to put more and more objects on my instrument and experiment in which other ways a cello can be extended.
